Nick was concerned about the sun being in Paisley's eyes. What a thoughtful daddy.
Upon our arrival back at home, we had lots of projects to tend to! Beings that the weather was AMAZING, Nick took advantage, and ripped out the window in our bedroom and tore off siding and rotting wood from a leak. I know nothing about this sort of creativity, but he was using words like flashing, joist, and tin snips. It was a perfect day for a project requiring a gaping hole of absent window.
What was that? You're wondering where the front door is? I'm so glad you asked! I mean, what's a girl supposed to do when your hubs is busy on a non-fun project? Why not impulsively paint the front door? Ok!
Here's the door before:
I know door-painting is super trendy, but our boring beige house needed some lipstick. And orange seemed like the obvious choice... NOT because it's autumn/halloween, but simply because orange is awesome, unique, and obnoxious! Nick was a little worried about painting the door and it's durability against the upcoming harsh Iowa winter, but when I showed up with Rustoleum's TRACTOR PAINT, the durability problem was fixed! And Nick likes orange too, and the reference to farm equipment didn't hurt my case either.
This project only required one can of spray paint, and had awesome coverage!! Beware of serious overspray though. My tootsies took the brunt of it. Try to ignore my chubby unpolished toes, and instead focus on the orange hue.
I SOO love how our door turned out! It adds a certain something to our home! Ain't nothin' wrong with doing a little exterior design!

Love the door & you picked a great color! = ) My husband would love that it's tractor paint too!
